This is why new Corolla Cross models are driven
by a powerful, yet ultra-economical 1.8-litre, four-cylinder
petrol engine, producing 103 kW @ 6400 r/min and 172
Nm of peak torque at 4000 r/min. The self-charging
hybrid models develop 72 kW @ 5200 r/min and 142 Nm
@ 3600 r/min, with an additional 90 kW available from its
electric motor throughout the rev range, pairing maximum
drivability with eco-consciousness.
Average fuel consumption is measured at a respective
6.8 l/100 km and a wallet-friendly 4.3 l/100 km for hybrid
versions.
Both engines power the front wheels through a smooth,
select-and-forget CVT transmission, ideal for the school
run, the highway or getting you to your
favourite holiday spot.
